The Cleveland Indians announced today that the team has granted Daisuke Matsuzaka his unconditional release. The player requested the release and now becomes a free agent who can be signed by any MLB team. Matsuzaka went 5-8 with a 3.92 ERA for Cleveland's AAA affiliate this year. He last pitched in the major leagues for the Red Sox in 2012—going 1-7 with a disastrous 8.28 ERA. Clearly, Dice-K will not be walking through that door.
