We are privileged to live in one of the few countries on Earth where you can speak your mind freely.
Rolling Stone magazine also enjoys that First Amendment right to publish whatever they like. The rest of us, however, are also free to criticize that publication for their grossly insensitive portrayal of the surviving Marathon Bomber in a cover story entitled,
"Jahar's World". In a blatant attempt to somehow justify the murders of four innocents and the maiming of hundreds more, Rolling Stone characterizes their story thusly:
"...a riveting and heartbreaking account of how a charming kid with a bright future became a monster." Really?
Heartbreaking? Charming Kid? Tell that to the Richard family, whose eight-year son was slaughtered by this terrorist with a "bright future". Or the parents of
Sean Collier, the MIT policeman who was executed by him. We will not display the photo that
Rolling Stone decided to put on its cover—the Facebook profile photo that the killer surely considered flattering. Shame on you,
