Multiple reports suggest that MLB has evidence on
Alex Rodriguez that is "far beyond" what it had on
Ryan Braun. Because of that fact—and because they believe he interfered with the Biogenesis investigation—
a lifetime ban might be sought. Of course, the Yankees would like nothing more than a lifetime ban—which takes them off the hook for one of the worst contracts in MLB history.
The Fraudulent One, of course, is trying to cut a Braun-like deal short of ending his career. In fact, according to
ESPN's
Stephen A. Smith (speaking on
Mike & Mike this morning), sources in the A-Fraud camp believe the Empire and MLB are
colluding to bring about his permanent banishment from baseball. This is schadenfreude on steroids—pun
definitely intended.
