Joe Torre, appearing before the
Baseball Writers Association of America, announced today that
he's "pretty confident" that expanded instant replay will happen next year. It's still unclear what exactly will be added to the existing review for home run calls, but talk has centered on trap plays and fair/foul calls down the lines. Torre also stated that "we're still in the tweaking stages", mainly since any rule changes have to be signed off by both the umpire and player unions.
