Peter Gammons reports that
the Red Sox have scouts following four starting pitchers in advance of next Wednesday's trading deadline. The pitchers cited are:
Jake Peavy,
Bud Norris,
Yovani Gallardo and
Edinson Volquez. Additional reports (
not from Gammons) are now suggesting that
Will Middlebrooks—who was recently demoted to AAA—may be part of any package that nets one of these arms.
