Teddy Stankiewicz |
With their second pick in the MLB Draft, the Red Sox continued their pitching obsession by selecting 6'4", 215-pound
Teddy Stankiewicz. The big right-hander struck out 70 batters in 60 2/3 innings this year and sported an ERA of 2.52 for JUCO Seminole State (Okla.). He was a second-round pick of the Mets last year, but decided to take the junior college route. According to
Mike Andrews of the authoritative
SoxProspects.com, Stankiewicz features
"a 92- to 96-mph fastball, a plus low-80s changeup, a workable mid-70s curveball, and a decent low-80s slider."
