Jarrod Saltalamacchia must have heard the rumors that the Red Sox were unhappy with his early season performance. The Boston catcher is now hitting a more than respectable .273 with 8 HRS after clouting two-round trippers on Sunday. Saltalamacchia hit a solo shot and a three-run blast as
the Carmine Hose pounded Joe Blanton and the Angels, 10-5.
Ryan Dempster was just good enough to win—going six innings and yielding three earned runs, while striking out six.
David Ortiz smashed another three-run HR—his second in two days—to give Boston the lead for good. Once again,
Dustin Pedroia and
Jose Iglesias extended their hitting streaks—this time to 13 games. The Sox now go on the road for seven big games—three in Tampa, four in Baltimore.
