Clay Buchholz became the American League's only unbeaten pitcher with at least nine wins, as the Red Sox took the nightcap of a twin-bill, beating the Angels, 7-2. David Ortiz hit a mammoth 2-run HR and drove in three overall as Boston snapped a nine-game losing skid against the ballclub from Los Angeles, Anaheim, Orange County, California, United States, Earth, Milky Way. Both Dustin Pedroia and Jose Iglesias (now hitting .443) extended their hitting streaks to 12, and Jonny Gomes had two hits and an RBI. Buchholz went 6 2/3 innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs. He left the game in the seventh inning with "neck tightness". Boston will look to take the rubber match on Sunday at 1:35 PM as Ryan Dempster takes the hill. It will be the third game between the two clubs in 24 hours.
