Joel Hanrahan left last night's game with a "strained right forearm" —that sounded a lot more serious than the Red Sox made it out to be. In fact, Hanrahan could not even throw a pick-off attempt to first base. Clearly, without
Andrew Bailey and Hanranhan, the Red Sox are without a closer. Look for
Koji Uehara to take over the role as early as tonight. Uehara does have closer experience—having collected thirteen for the Orioles in 2010. However, lately Uehara has not been as unhittable as he was at the very start of the year. It's a risk. But one the Red Sox have to take. Another possibility is
Junichi Tazawa. Or: paging
Daniel Bard!
