It's still not known how severely Will Middlebrooks was injured in last night's collision with David Ross. The informal word is that it's worse than originally thought—some sort of injury to his side. If Middlebrooks is sent to the disabled list, there's a chance he could be replaced by Pawtucket third baseman (and former first-round draft pick of the Orioles) Brandon Snyder. The 26-year old has had a few cups of coffee in the bigs—compiling a .276 average in 56 games. This year at AAA, he's hitting .330, with 6 HRs and 22 RBIs. He has, however, committed five errors in 27 games. Neverthess, Snyder would seem to be a better option than either Pedro Ciriaco or Brock Holt.
