Red Sox pitcher
Joel Hanrahan announced this morning that he will have season-ending surgery with Dr. James Andrews. Initially, the surgery will be focused on repairing a torn flexor tendon—but once the elbow is fully explored it could very likely lead to a full
Tommy John procedure. Working on a one-year pact, this may be the end of the
Hanrahan Era in Boston.
Ben Cherington needs to
quickly figure out a long-term closer solution.
