The last closer standing—
Andrew Bailey—threw a 25-pitch bullpen session yesterday in Tampa and pronounced it a success. Said Bailey,
"I mixed in curveballs, cutters, changeups, couple of everything. Moving in the right direction. I felt good the last few days." On Thursday, Bailey will toss a simulated game and—at that point—
John Farrell and the medical staff will decide whether or not to send the righty on a short rehab assignment. This team needs to quickly restore some stability to the bullpen. The faster Bailey is back, the better.
