With
Joel Hanrahan going on the DL and
Felix Doubront rightly exiled to the bullpen (temporarily say the Red Sox),
Allen Webster has been called up from AAA to start tonight against the Twins. Webster was one of the centerpieces of
The Great Punto Trade Of 2012—tabbed at the time as one of the top pitching prospects in the Dodger organization. The kid can bring it at 100MPH and has a Peggy Lee sinker to go with it. Webster was called up earlier this year for one start and he was impressive—going six innings and giving up just two earned runs. He walked one and struck out five. This may be his
Wally Pipp moment.
