Just two days removed from the attack on Boston, the Red Sox again broke out to an early lead and held on for a victory in Cleveland.
The 6-3 win was propelled by another decent start by
Alfredo Aceves, timely hitting and another door-slamming performance by the bullpen.
Mike Napoli and
Daniel Nava each drove in two runs, while spot-starting first-baseman
Mike Carp went 3 for 3 with an RBI.
Jacoby Ellsbury, Shane Victorino and
Dustin Pedroia also had multiple-hit performances. The Red Sox have now won five straight and will play one more at
Progressive Field before they head back to Boston for a 10-game homestand beginning on Friday.
