Just a few days after the Red Sox let
Ryan Sweeney go,
he was snapped up by former Red Sox GM Theo Epstein. Sweeney will report to the Cubs AAA Des Moines affiliate to get some at-bats. He will likely be called up to the big club shortly. Sweeney ended up playing just 63 games for Boston, hitting .260 with a meager .303 on-base percentage. Needless to say, it was not a good fit. Hopefully, he can re-start his career in the Windy City.
