There's a reason why
John Farrell is a major league manager, and none of us at
FenwayNation are. Farrell's decision to start
Daniel Nava over
Jackie Bradley, Jr. (which we objected to) paid off handsomely. Nava clocked a seventh-inning three-run homer over everything in left to provide the margin of victory for Boston is
a 3-1 triumph over Baltimore. Up until that point, the game was a tight pitcher's duel between
Clay Buchholz (7 innings, 0 runs, 3 hits, 8 Ks) and
Wei-Yin Chen.
Andrew Bailey pitched a lights-out eighth, and
Joel Hanrahan closed it out (despite giving up a HR to
Adam Jones). Boston is now a solid 5-2 with a day off Tuesday.
Ryan Dempster takes to hill Wednesday night against the Birds.
