Despite what appears to be positive news on
John Lackey,
the Red Sox have expressed interest in trading for starter Aaron Harang. The Rockies acquired Harang in a trade with the Dodgers and then designated him for assignment. Harang could obviously help in the short-term until Lackey can return to the rotation—but he also might provide insurance if the likes of
Felix Doubront continue to show iffy production. Harang, who will turn 35 on May 9th, holds a 4.19 ERA over 11 MLB seasons. He's won 105 and lost 104, and owns a WHIP of 1.353. He was 10-10 last year with the Dodgers, with a 3.61 ERA over 179 2/3 innings.
