The Red Sox have decided to start
Alfredo Aceves on Thursday—pushing
Felix Doubront back to Friday. This will allow the team to skip one of
John Lackey's starts—who apparently has only suffered a bicep strain/inflammation in his last start. It's still unclear if Lackey will miss any more starts—or even go on the disabled list—but at least the Sox have made a short-term fix. Aceves has started four games in his Red Sox career and had—at best—mixed results (5.14 ERA). This year, he has already given up two three-run homers in limited relief action.
