Sox Fans' Skepticism Makes National Headlines
Apparently, we weren't the only ones who were cynical about the feeble April Food Discount Ploy by the Red Sox. The eye-rolling reactions were so widespread that TIME Magazine felt it was worth an article on the phenomenon. Citing talk radio backlash and scathing comments on various media websites, TIME was oddly shocked that Bostonians would so readily see through the team's transparent effort at 'mollifying' the fan base. We thought it was a pretty natural reaction—and pretty savvy, too. But then again, TIME has always been out-of-step, don't you think? It's a little bit sad that the NOG continually thinks it's connecting with the fan base, but whiffs nearly every time. The problem is simple: they're just not from here.
