Red Sox And Yankees Team Up For Newtown
The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees don't agree on much. But on Opening Day in the Bronx, they will join forces to honor the victims of the Newtown, Connecticut school tragedy. Both teams will wear a commemorative ribbon on their respective uniform sleeves, and both will engage in a moment of silence. The names of the Sandy Hook murder victims will be shown on the center field scoreboard. Red Sox owner John Henry stated, “Months have passed, yet we are still trying to come to grips with this incomprehensible tragedy. As our teams look to face each other on Opening Day, we will stand united in support of the families affected as we remember and honor those who were lost.”
