If
David Ortiz is unable to start the season on Opening Day,
there is the possibility that Jackie Bradley, Jr. would stay with the big club and play left field, while
Jonny Gomes would be moved to DH. The Red Sox, of course, are denying that this is even being discussed. If it isn't being considered, it would essentially be a dereliction of duty by BenCher. No word yet on the results of Papi's MRI.
