Not satisfied with the average age of their roster,
the Yankees went out and spent $13 million trading for re-tread outfielder Vernon Wells. Wells is due $42 million over the next two years, but the Angels were willing to eat $29 million of that just to unload him. It gives you a sense of how truly desperate the Pinstriped Posers are that they feel the need to add a has-been like Wells. Last year, the 34-year old hit just .230 for Anaheim in 77 games. May he thrive similarly in the Bronx.
