Former Red Sox post-season hero
Derek Lowe is about to sign a deal with the Texas Rangers. While it's a minor league deal, he is signing with the understanding that he will make the major league club. Reportedly, he will work out of the bullpen in a "swing role". Lowe had a forgettable 2012, posting an ERA of 5.11 between stints with the Indians and Evil Ones. He will never be forgotten by Red Sox fans for winning every clinching post-season game in 2004.
