Casey Kelly, the pitching prospect who—along with Anthony Rizzo—went to San Diego for Adrian Gonzalez, may need Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. Padres GM Josh Byrnes made the announcement on Wednesday and said the young righty will head back to San Diego for further tests. Ominously, Padres manager Bud Black said, ''The doctors are concerned about what the tests look like. That's the best I can say.'' After being converted from shortstop, Kelly became one of Boston's top pitching prospects before being dealt. We wish him a speedy recovery.
