While it's not official yet, all
the tea leaves point to Jackie Bradley, Jr. doffing his cap at the National Anthem on Monday at The Concrete Bunker On 161st Street. The Red Sox told
Ryan Sweeney they would
not be purchasing his contract, and sent
Daniel Bard To AA Portland. Those actions paved the way for Bradley,
Mike Carp and
Clayton Mortensen to join the big club as the final three pieces of the 2013 roster. It's all but official now. Said manager John Farrell of Bradley,
"When you look at the consistency of his control of the strike zone, gets himself in good hitters' counts, what he does in those situations, I think that goes beyond the overall batting average. We've allowed him to go this deep in camp, so we're not afraid or unwilling to break camp with him. If that were the case, we would have sent him out four weeks ago." Think the kid made it?
