An MRI revealed that there has been no change—positively or negatively—in
Mike Napoli's AVN hip condition. The condition has
not improved, just stabilized with medication. The result is that Napoli will begin taking ground balls at first base—something he has yet to do in Fort Myers. However, neither Napoli nor
David Ortiz (who says he is 90% recovered from his Achilles problem) will take part in early Spring games at first base. Looks like
Mauro Gomez and
Lyle Overbay in those early games.
