Sorry, Red Sox fans. All those daydreams about
Felix Hernandez wearing Boston laundry are just that—daydreams.
The Mariners reportedly have signed Hernandez to a seven-year, $175 million contract—making 'King Felix' the highest paid pitcher ever. The 26-year old righty will earn an average of $25 million from now through 2019. Hernandez has won 98 games in eight years with Seattle—with an ERA of 3.22. He won the
Cy Young Award in 2010 with a 2.27 ERA—despite a 13-12 record. So, the only way you get to see King Felix hurl in the Hub is when the Mariners come to town.
