Over the last two years or so, the trials and tribulations of the Red Sox medical operation have been epic. Losing thousands of games to bizarre injuries—with questionable treatment protocols—has resulted in multiple shake-ups within the medical team. Lately, a lot of the focus has been on former trainer
Mike Reinold—who is accused (by some) of improperly injecting players with the legal drug Toradol. GM
Ben Cherington generally avoided the Reinold controversy when speaking to the press yesterday—execpt to say they might actually hire the guy again.
Essentially, Cherington now says the medical fiascoes are all behind them—yeah, right.
