After the shock resignation of long-time bullpen coach
Gary Tuck, the Red Sox took a while to gather themselves and name a replacement. They did that today,
picking Massachusetts native Dana Levangie for the job. Levangie has been with the Carmine Hose in various capacities for 22 years. The 43-year old has been a Red Sox player, bullpen catcher, and an advance scout for the team. Said
John Farrell of Levangie,
“We are extremely pleased to add Dana to the major league staff. He has been a valuable asset to the Red Sox in a variety of roles and his vast knowledge of the Major Leagues, particularly the American League, will enable him to make an impact on our staff and with our bullpen."
