According to a report by ESPN's Jim Bowden,
no teams have offered Adam LaRoche a three-year deal. This of course, would include the Red Sox, who have yet to resolve the situation surrounding
Mike 'What Is Hip?' Napoli. Bowden claims that only one team is seriously interested in LaRoche—the Washington Nationals. If this is true, then whatever negotiating leverage the Red Sox may have had over Napoli is gone. Apparently, the fear of losing a second-round pick (and the slot money associated with that pick) is just too scary for BenCher. Look for some half-baked restructuring of Napoli's deal.
