Slam-dunk first-ballot Hall Of Famer
Pedro Martinez is back in the Red Sox organization as a special assistant to general manager Ben Cherington. The three-time Cy Young winner will serve as an advisor to the team with special emphasis on "evaluation, mentorship, and instruction". From 1998 to 2004, Pedro was "appointment viewing" whenever he took to the hill for the Red Sox—compiling a ridiculous 117-37 record along with a 2.52 ERA. His 1999 and 2000 seasons are arguably the most dominant of any starting pitcher in MLB history. Welcome back, Pedro.
