Back To Pound At The Sound |
With the news that
Michael Morse is headed back to Seattle (where his career began), it now becomes even more likely that the Red Sox will be forced to make a compromised deal with
Mike 'What Is Hip?' Napoli to play first base. Morse was the last viable option left for Boston—with every other alternative either internal (
Mauro Gomez) or eternal (
Casey Kotchman,
Lyle Overbay). The rumored one-year deal for Napoli would at least cut Boston's losses, but it doesn't answer two glaring questions: 1.) What happens if Napoli's hip flares up in April? and 2.) Who the heck plays first base in 2014? This whole first base fiasco is a serious black mark on BenCher's record.
