Sox Still In Hunt For '10 MVP |
Sources are telling the
Boston Herald's Michael Silverman that
there is still a chance—albeit remote—that the Red Sox can sign free-agent Josh Hamilton. The fact that talks are on-going and that the market is somewhat collapsing on Hamilton is probably a good sign for Boston. Our guess is the Red Sox would go four years with a player-option for a fifth year. Signing the 2010 MVP would go a long way toward convincing their fan base that this ownership is serious about both short- and long-term competitiveness. And, of course, it would fill the hole in right field.
