Multiple reports now suggest that
the Red Sox are focusing some of their starting pitching attention on 34-year old free agent Kyle Lohse. He posted a 16-3 record and a 2.86 ERA last season, but—career-wise he is a .520 pitcher with a 4.45 ERA. He would be a serviceable fifth starter option, if the team signs a more legitimate middle of the rotation hurler to go behind Buchholz, Lester and Lackey.
