According to a report by
WEEI.com's Rob Bradford,
at least one other team besides the Red Sox is now negotiating with free agent Mike Napoli. The December 3rd preliminary agreement between Boston and Napoli has been on hold due to a previously unknown hip issue. In the meantime, the Red Sox are pursuing other first base options—most notably
Adam LaRoche.
