Boxing Day is becoming a dig deal for the Red Sox. On the same day that they made the
Joel Hanrahan deal official, they also
announced that they have have signed Stephen Drew to a one-year, $9.5 million deal. Drew will likely be the Opening Day starter for Boston at shortstop, and will wear the same #7 uniform number as his older brother,
J.D. Drew. The 29-year old Drew is a .265 lifetime hitter, with a .978 career fielding percentage at shortstop.
