| Miffed At Drew Signing |
In an interview on WEEI's
Hot Stove show,
Dustin Pedroia revealed that Jose Iglesias was upset at the news of the Red Sox signing Stephen Drew to a one-year deal. Pedroia tried to console the young shortstop by recounting his experiences in 2006—when he was sent back to AAA after the big club signed
Mark Loretta to play second base. Pedroia also stated that he was looking forward to playing with Drew—who was a college contemporary of the Muddy Chicken. We think it's a good sign that Iglesias is miffed at the Drew signing—it could serve as extra motivation to figure out his offensive struggles and more quickly be of value to the Sox.
