Erstwhile Red Sox outfielder
Jason Bay has reportedly signed a deal with the Seattle Mariners—pending the outcome of a physical. No terms are yet known. After a productive year-and-a-half in Boston, Bay has been dismal in the wake of signing a mega-deal with the Metropolitans. There was
some talk early in the off-season that the Red Sox
might be interested in Bay—who undoubtedly would have been offered a three-year, $39 million deal by Ben Cherington.
