The Red Sox today announced their full minor league field staff. Among the notables were
Rich Gedman as the AA Portland Sea Dogs Hitting Coach and
U.L. Washington (The Tooth-Picked One) as Hitting Coach in the Gulf Coast Rookie League. Gedman played 11 seasons with the Red Sox and was part of the 1986 World Series squad. He hit .259 as a member of the Carmine Hose. Gedman, in the past, was also a Hitting Coach for the Single A Lowell Spinners. Washington—known for his dangling tooth-pick—played 11 seasons in the bigs, stealing 40 bases in 1983 as a member of the Kansas City Royals.
