In a move that would further damage the Red Sox chances in the AL East, multiple sources are reporting that
the Toronto Blue Jays are favored to land R.A. Dickey in a trade with the New York Metropolitans. The Blue Jays already have re-molded their team into a contender with a blockbuster deal that brought them
Jose Reyes,
Mark Buehrle,
Josh Johnson,
Emilio Bonifacio and
John Buck. It's unclear who the Jays will send to Flushing, but
J.P. Arencibia would likely be the centerpiece of the deal for the Mets. In any event, the Red Sox would be buried deeper in the bowels of the division should this deal come to fruition.
