Masterson At A Past Red Sox Event (FN Photo) |
According to a report by the
Globe's Peter Abraham,
the Red Sox may be considering bringing back Justin Masterson—either as a starter or reliever. Masterson was traded to the Indians for
Victor Martinez, and the 28-year old has been a serviceable member of the Tribe's rotation ever since. An sub-par 2012 could make him available—although new Cleveland Manager
Terry Francona obviously knows his potential. This move might make sense, since the team will likely have to throw eight or ten pitchers against the Spring Training Wall to end up with five on Opening Day.
