Well, the free-agent outfielder universe has narrowed by one as
Torii Hunter signed a two-year, $26 million deal with the Detroit Tigers. So much for the deep bond between Hunter and Papi. Now, Ben Cherington will need to be even
more creative in trying to fill the
two open outfield spots—especially since the team whiffed on the
Cody Ross re-signing. As each day passes, we fall further and further behind our AL competition.
