In another bizarre twist in the
38 Studios story,
the State of Rhode Island is suing Curt Schilling and some of the state's own former officials for fraud. The state claims they were "misled" into approving $75 million in loan guarantees to the beleaguered video game company—that eventually went bankrupt. The suit claims that 38 Studios executives and the state's own Economic Development Corp. officials
knew the company would go belly-up, but concealed that information before the loan guarantees were approved. We're not lawyers, but that sounds like a pretty tough case to prove.
