The Red Sox—still open to the idea of a two-headed monster of a Hitting Coach—are talking to former major leaguer Rick Schu to become at least 50% of the new position. Schu spent nine seasons in the bigs—with the Phillies, Orioles, Tigers, Expos and Angels. More recently, Schu has been a coach and/or instructor for the D'Backs and Nats. We're continuing to hope that cooler heads prevail and we have but one hitting coach at Fenway. We don't have time for loopy ideas—we need to build a team. According to reports, Red Sox GM Ben Cherington is interviewing Schu today.
