Wes Ferrell (see photo) pitched for the Red Sox for four years—between 1934 and 1937. He won over 60% of the games he pitched for Boston, and nearly won 200 games in his 15-year career (193).
The Hall of Fame's Veteran's Committee announced that Ferrell is one of this year's nominees to be inducted into the Cooperstown shrine. Ferrell, who passed away in 1976, won 20 games four different times—including twice for the Red Sox (his 25 wins in 1935 led the American League). Here's hoping he makes it into the Hall.
