After much speculation to the contrary,
Gary Tuck will be returning for his seventh season as Boston's bullpen coach. Tuck is extremely popular with pitchers, and has had a good relationship in the past with John Farrell during his pitching coach days with the Red Sox. This is a smart re-hire and should lead to stability for a critical element of the team. On the flip side, Farrell is suggesting that the team will hire two hitting coaches, which we still think is a dumb concept—no matter how popular it's becoming in baseball.
