Had the Red Sox been able to consummate a trade with the Angels for
Dan Haren before Friday midnight,
Alfredo Aceves would have been the player sent—appropriately enough—to La-La Land. When the clock struck twelve and Haren turned into a free-agent pumpkin, the deal was off. It might have been interesting to see if Alfredo ever took the I-5 off the mound to avoid
Mike Scioscia. Oh, well. The Red Sox, by the way, are still shopping Aceves.
