Terry Francona Interviewing Today With Tribe
Former Red Sox manager Terry Francona is undergoing a daylong interview with the Cleveland Indians about their open managerial position. After spending the last year in the broadcast booth for ESPN, Francona has jumped back into the fray with both feet. His primary competition will probably come from Sandy Alomar, Jr—who took over as interim manager for the fired Manny Acta. Francona's dad, Tito, played six seasons for the Indians in the fifties and sixties. Turning around the limited payroll Indians ($65,430,300) would be a big challenge, but at least it would be a far less pressure-packed environment that Boston.
