Can Bricks Be Far Behind? |
Man, is
John Henry ever in a rut. His baseball team collapses, followed closely by his foreign soccer team. He saddled his baseball team's fans with a 100-year old stadium,
now he's sticking Liverpudlians with a 120-year old structure.
We're not real clear as to whether the soccer pitch (called Anfield) has the same cramped seating and ridiculous obstructed views as Fenway Park, but how good can a 120-year old facility be? John Henry has pledged to bump the 45,000-seat arena to 60,000 at the cost of around $280 million. Sound familiar?
