John Farrell stood up before MLB Network Radio today and shouted to the world: "I'm manager of the Blue Jays". There's no word yet if fans from around Canada stood up one-by-one repeating his mantra. While the Red Sox are interviewing Team B (
Tim Wallach and
Brad Ausmus) it's still very clear that Farrell is their main squeeze. While the Toronto manager has been artful in his denials, you'll notice that he never actually says he doesn't want the Beantown job. Be assured that the compensation negotiations are going along on a parallel track with the current interviews of other candidates.
